Director's Statement:

I think nostalgia is cyclical. By yearning for a place that never truly was, we leave the present, which becomes a new rose-colored past.

To Err explores that circle from the perspective of an android who has no past, and therefore falls in love with deceased persons' nostalgia.

This short is a love letter to religious, "think-y" sci-fi films – like THX-1138 and Blade Runner. My hope is that To Err makes you stop and think, particularly about where a longing for better times is taking you.
