"TheReturn” is a drawn animated film created by director Vladimir Tarasov at theSoyuzmultfilm studio in 1980. The film's consultant is cosmonaut Alexei Leonov. The Valdai T-614 spacecraft had a bit of a rough ride on itsEarth-Jupiter-Earth trip. It's not possible to do an automatic landing. Thecontrol centre gave the ship's pilot, Cosmonaut Platonov, the green light toget some rest before the emergency manual descent. When the appointed timecame, the pilot didn't wake up, and all attempts to wake him up failed. Theship was doomed. In a surprising turn of events, the flight leaders receivedadvice from the astronaut's grandfather. He suggested changing the course sothat the ship passed over the native village house. The pilot's sleepyconsciousness was jolted by sounds from his childhood, and he successfullylanded the ship.
